Chemo Cap Knitting Machines

17 Sep

The Hooks & Books Club of Cypress, Texas is a a group of Crocheters that wish to raise $1,200 to purchase three Addi Express Kingsized Knitting Machines to put towards the making & donating of knitted caps. The knitted caps made would serve MD Anderson Cancer Center locally by way of Chemo Caps for their patients. The knitting machines would also be put to use in making knitted caps for area shelters, people & school children in need during the cold winter months. Our desire for making donatable hand-made caps is greatly outwayed by the time constraints of our busy daily lives. Having these knitting machines to bridge that time gap would benefit all persons involved exponentially as the knitting machines produce a hat in about 15 minutes. The potential for making so many more donated knitted caps would be possible. That in comparison to a handmade crocheted or knit hat that takes days to make for just one hat. If you could please find it in your heart to make a donation every knitted cap we make is a small contribution to making the world a better place one stitch at a time.

Any donation amount is greatly appreciated.

Donation Reward Levels are as follows:

$25 High-Five Level-donation for 1 hat donated in their name to the charity of their choice.
$50 Hug Level-donation for 5 hats donated in their name to the charity of their choice.
$100 Bear Hug Level-donation for 10 hats donated in their name to the charity of their choice.
The Addi Express Kingsized Knitting Machines site that we’d like to purchase them from is listed below. Regular price for each knitting machine is $299.99 & on average the shipping costs $60 + tax. The manufacturing company is based out of Germany.

If we are able to purchase the three knitting machines at the special price of the link below & not for the regular full price, we’ll put any left over money towards the purchase of yarn for making donatable knitted caps.

Groups past commitment: Here are two different links to a FREE Pattern for a Crocheted Chemo Cap that one group member has donated & had over 1,100 downloads going towards the making of such donatable caps. We wish to continue putting such caps into the hands of people who need them much faster with the knitting machines we hope to raise funds for.
